Potts, LaRue B. (21 JUL 1911 - 5 JUN 1985)


Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 1985 at the Gesche Funeral Home for LaRue B. Potts, 73, Route 1, Greenwood, Clark County, who died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield at 2 a.m., Wednesday. The Rev. Mark Voll, pastor of the United Church of Christ, will officiate and burial will take place in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Ormond, Bernard Murphy, H. H. Quicker, Alfred Boon, Walter Ormond and Darrel Edwards.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, and Saturday until time of services.

He was born July 21, 1911, in South Dakota to Burdette and Alma (nee Rich) Potts and educated there. He moved to the town of Weston in Clark County in 1928 and farmed there, and was a milk hauler for 17 years. He was employed by Fleet Farm in Marshfield for 18 years and for the last five years before his retirement he served as manager of Fleet Farm. He retired in 1974.

His marriage to the former Nina G. Scharf took place Nov. 29, 1935, at Valparaiso, Ind., and she survives, along with his mother, Mrs. Alma Potts, Greenwood a sister, Mrs. Francis (Madeline) Clintsman, Greenwood.

He was predeceased by his father and one infant brother.
