Olson, Edwin W. (4 AUG 1927 - 19 DEC 2001)


Edwin W. Olson, 74, Colby, died on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at the House of the Dove, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, at the Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford. The Rev. Kenneth A. Dix officiated. Interment was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Edwin William Olson was born on Aug. 4, 1927, in Duluth, Minn., to Edwin W. and Bernice (nee Peterson) Olson Sr. He attended Munger Elementary School and was a graduate of Duluth Central High School. He attended the University of Minn.-Duluth, majoring in business. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Jeannine H. Hagen on Aug. 18, 1956. The moved to Unity in 1963 and he had resided in Colby since 1988. He was employed with Grassland Dairy in Greenwood, Clark County as vice president of sales and marketing for 20 years. He enjoyed his family, good conversation and golf.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Ron) Landwehr, Colby, and Nancy (Al) Meyer, Colby one brother, Donald (Betty) Olson, Duluth five grandchildren, April Erin, Eric, Jessie and Nicholas and one great-grandchild, Blake.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Jeannine, on July 18, 1978.

Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, assisted the family with arrangements.
