Annis, Rollin (16 APR 1905 - 30 MAY 2002)


OWEN - Rollin Annis, 97, Owen, Clark County, died on Thursday, May 30, 2002, at the Memorial Nursing Home in Medford, where he had resided the past two years.

Funeral services for him will be on Monday, June 3, 2002, at 11:00 am, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Town of Holway, with Reverend Lauren Ley officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Holway.

Pallbearers are Duane Hamm, Joe Hamm, Billy Hamm, Cindy Hart, Drew Loney and Mike Hart. Honorary pallbearers are Linda Hamm, Debra Loney, Douglas Neibacher and Mike Yoder.

Visitation with family and friends will be on Sunday, June 2, 2002, at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and at the church on Monday, one hour before service time.

Rollin Annis was born on April 16, 1905, in Knapp, Dunn County, son of Traverse and Amelia (Rightman) Annis. As a young man, Rollin farmed with his grandparents on the Annis family homestead. Rollin and Kathryn Yoder were united in marriage on March 16, 1926, in Knapp, and together they continued to work the family farm. In 1931, they moved to Gilman, and in 1941 moved to the Owen area continuing to farm. In 1947, they moved to the farm in the Town of Holway where Rollin had resided before entering the nursing home. From 1945, Rollin was also employed with E.W. Kidd, formerly (Teledyne Post), Owen, before retiring in 1970.

Rollin and Kathryn enjoyed traveling, especially to the West Coast. His family remember the family sing-a-longs, and at the nursing home bingo was his game.

Survivors include:2 sons Donald Annis of Owen and Norman Annis of Toledo, Ohio; 2 daughters Doris Neibacher of Owen and Alice (Richard Stoflet) Annis of Owen;; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Annis December 9, 1994, daughter Barbara Hamm October 19, 1999, granddaughter Denise Neibacher October 4, 1999, brother Alvin Annis and 2 sons-in-law Orville Neibacher and Archie "Spike" Hamm.

Maurina Funeral Home of Abbotsford assisted the family with arrangements.
