Laper, Ernest M. (29 SEP 1873 - 29 NOV 1963)

Funeral services for Ernest M. Laper, 90, Abbotsford, who died Friday, Nov. 29, 1963, were held Monday afternoon at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford.

The body was taken at noon from the Polnaszek Funeral Home where it lay in state since Sunday, to the church. Services were conducted at two o'clock by the Rev. F.H. Sprengler, after which interment was made in the Abbotsford Cemetery.

During the services Miss Dorothy Kieser and Mrs. Charles Pautz sang "Abide with Me" and "The Lord is My Shepherd." Miss Kieser was the organist and accompanist.

The pallbearers were H.J. Amacher, Frank Bernitt, Al Goldamer, Ole Hanson, G.G. Kieser and Walter Kuenzi.

Ernest M. Laper was born in Germany Sept. 29, 1873, and was married to Jeanette Nagel Aug. 13, 1896, at Racine. The couple farmed in the Rib lake, Stetsonville and Little Black areas until 1940, when they came to Abbotsford.

Mrs. Laper died in July 1960. For the past two years Mr. Laper was a resident of the Golden Age Nursing Home at Rib Lake, and a few days prior to his death was admitted to Memorial Hospital at Medford.

Mr. Laper served as caretaker at Christ Lutheran Church for many eyars and was also sexton of the Abbotsford Cemetery.

One granddaughter, Mrs. Duane (Janet) Zager of Owen and one great-grandchildren of Owen, survive him.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a son and a brother.

Those from sway who attended the funeral were from Owen, greenwood, Stetsonville and Racine.
