Hodowanic, Roger W. (February 29, 1940 - August 4, 2010)

Roger W. Hodowanic, age 70, of Gilman, Wis., passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, Wis.

Roger was born February 29, 1940 in Chippewa Falls, Wis., the son of the late William and Jennie (Palmer) Hodowanic.

He graduated from Glenwood City High School and worked for American Motors in Kenosha for a few years, returning back to the Gilman area, farming, driving truck and grading roads for the townships of Aurora and Pershing.

A quiet, loving father, Roger was always there for his children and other family members. His pastime favorites included fishing and other outdoor activities. He enjoyed playing cards and cribbage, cooking and spending time with his family.

He was united in marriage to Sylvia Trawicki and was later divorced.

Roger is survived by his children, Veronica (Dennis) Turek of Gilman, Wis., Kim (Randy) Sands of Ojibwa, Wis., and William (Gina) Hodowanic of Gilman, Wis.; plus four grandchildren, Dylan and Cody Hodowanic and Justin and Mitchell Sands.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Gilman Funeral Home, with Father Gerard Willger officiating. Burial was in St. John's Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Huron, Wis.
