Paustenbach, Leona V. (15 Jan. 1919 – 23 Oct. 2008)

MEDFORD -- Leona V. Paustenbach, 89, of Medford died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Deerview Meadows Assisted Living in Medford under the care of Hope Hospice.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Hemer Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

She was born Jan. 15, 1919, in Medford to Charles and Mary (Schultz) Tylka. She married Robert "Bob" L. Paustenbach on Oct. 11, 1941, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2001. Prior to her marriage, she did restaurant work in the Chicago area. When she returned to Medford, she co-owned/operated Pals Restaurant with her brother. After marriage she was a homemaker.

Surviving are three sons, David (Karen) Paustenbach, Mount Dora, Fla., Don Paustenbach and Lee (Patsy) Paustenbach, both of Medford; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Delores (Gordon) Nelson, Medford; and two brothers, Larry Tylka and Vince Tylka, both of Milwaukee.
