Pfaff, Leona M. (19 AUG 1915 - 6 APR 2012)

Leona M. Pfaff, 96, was born to Eternal Life on April 6, 2012.

Leona M. Pfaff, 96, was born August 19, 1915 in the Town of Deer Creek to the late Bernard and Mary (Hollman) Pfaff. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, April 11 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.

Hemer Funeral Home, Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

She graduated from Medford High School and worked in sales at Medford’s Newburg’s Department Store, later renamed McCain’s Clothing Store. Throughout her life, Leona served diligently in her church, Holy Rosary Parish, and earlier, Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Stetsonville. She regularly prepared the altar linens, helped decorate the church and served the parish in many other ways. Leona was an energetic woman, with a heart to help others. She had a witty sense of humor and a variety of interests and talents. Leona enjoyed various homemaking skills, including cooking, baking, gardening and sewing. She liked to travel with her friends, golf with her sister, help her friend with intarsia projects and spoil her nieces and nephew. It was fun to be with Leona.

Leona last resided at Skaalen Home in Stoughton, Wisconsin. In her new home Leona endeared herself to the staff and caregivers who enjoyed her sense of humor. Leona was instrumental in establishing their weekly Rosary Group.

Leona’s nieces and nephew and spouses wish to thank the caregivers of Skaalen Home for the loving care they provided for our wonderful Auntie Leona.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Sophie Seidel, Mildred Pfaff, Myra Pfaff, and Irma (Francis) Kress.
