Nason, Melissa R. (10 Apr. 1837 - 7 June 1876)

Death of Mrs. S. L. Nason, 1837-1876

The news of the sudden demise of Mrs. Nason, wife of Solomon L, Nasonville, was received in our city last Mon.. The fact that Mrs. Nason had been enjoying excellent health up to four days prior to her decease, makes the intelligence of her sudden death more appalling.

Mrs. S. L. (Melissa R.) Nason was born April 10, 1837 in St. Lawrence county, New York, and had lived in Wisconsin since 1861. She died June 7, 1876, making her 39 years, 1 month and 17 days old at the time of her death.

Her disease is supposed to have been a derangement of the brain by inflammatory rheumatism. She leaves a family of five children, two boys and three girls, the eldest eleven years, the youngest a babe of fifteen months. In the community where she has resided for several years, she had come to be loved for her many excellent qualities of heart and mind. The needy and weary ones of this world ever found in her a sympathizing friend whose helping hands were extended in the alleviation of their wants or sufferings. She has gone Home but her memory will be green for years in the circle of friends who loved her as a sister.
