Stini, Jerome M. (10 Jan. 1940 - 3 Feb. 1996)

Jerome M. “Sonny” Stini, 56, of 905 W. Arnold St. died at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 3, 1996, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit where he had been admitted on Jan. 24.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wed. at St. John’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel, pastor, will officiate. Helen Brinkman, organist, and St. John’s Church Funeral Choir will provide the music.

Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Military rites will be held by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. Pallbearers will be his son James Stini and Troy Kuntz, Ryan Cliver, Arnold Stini, Victor Stini and Marvin J. Duerr.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tues. at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Chapel and again on Wed. night until service time. St. John’s Parish Prayer Service will be held at 6 p.m. Tues. at the funeral chapel.

He was born Jan. 10, 1940. He married Linda M. Schroeder on Oct. 14, 1967, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville. Mr. and Mrs. Stini celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 1992.

As an infant, he was raised by his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Stini. He attended St. Mary’s Parochial School in Bakerville and was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. After his education, he began employment with Roddis Plywood Co. for two years. In 1963, he entered the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge in 1965. He then returned to Marshfield where he was employed again by the former Roddis Plywood Co. now known as Weyerhaeuser Co., where he was employed for 35 years until August 1995. He also was employed part time at Northern Auto in Marshfield for 25 years.

He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He was also a member and former officer of the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield; and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 1733.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Stini; one son, James Stini of Chili; two daughters, Lisa (Thomas) Singstock of Stratford and Tammy (Nathan) Stromme of Marshfield; his granddaughter, Ashley Marie Stini; and his mother, Mary Reel of Colby.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Mary Stini who died on Dec. 2, 1956, and Joseph Stini Sr., who died on May 27, 1975.

Jerome was a caring husband and devoted father. He was a gentle and loving man with affection for all. His life ended peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.
