BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- Gerald R. "Jerry" Hayden, 70, of Bourbonnais, Ill., died April 27, 2009, at his farm in Marshfield.

He was born Nov. 23, 1938, in Metropolis, Ill., the son of Clinton and Corene Shappard Hayden. He married Sudie E. Leiser on Sept. 25, 1930, at St. Paul Epsicopal Church, Kankakee, Ill.

He was owner and president of the Bear Machine Tool & Die from 1973 until retiring in 2006.

He is a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1962 to 1964.

Surviving are his wife, Sudie Hayden of Bourbonnais; two sons, Dwayne Hayden of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Douglas Hayden of Manteno, Ill.

Visitation will be held 10 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. service Fri., May 1, 2009, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. Interment will be held in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Kankakee.
