STRATFORD -- Helen M. Kieffer, 91, of Stratford.

God has called one of his angels at work to be at his side. Helen peacefully made the transition to join our almighty Father in heaven April 24, 2009.

Mrs. Kieffer was born Jan 3, 1918, in the town of Day to George and Pauline (Schalk) Guldan. She attended St. Andrew's Parochial School.

Helen was one of a kind. She found her calling in motherhood, giving life to 13 children and becoming a wonderful homemaker, great cook, and vegetable and flower gardener enthusiast. Kindness, generosity and natural loving, motherly instinct touched and enriched all the lives of whom she encountered.

Helen lived a joyous, blessed life with her loving husband, Charles. God continued to bless them with thirty-seven grandchildren, forty-nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. After sixty-five years of marriage, God called Charles to heaven on this same day, April 24, 2000, at the same age of 91. It is a poetic love story that only God himself could create.

In celebration of Helen's life, a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thur., April 30, 2009, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, in Rozellville.

Helen and Charles were also married on this day, April 30, 1935, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church.

The Rev. Thomas Rudolph and Rev. Arthur Redmond will officiate for the funeral service. Music will be provided by St. Andrew's Folk Choir. Burial will take place in St. Andrew's Cemetery, and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held Wed. from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) and 10 a.m. until service time Thur. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. A Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. Wed., followed by a parish rosary service at 7 p.m., both at the funeral home.

Helen is survived by 12 children, Roger (Noreen) Kieffer of Rochester, Jeanne (Dino) Riviera of Eagle, Adam (Martha) Kieffer of Spartenburg, S.C., Mary Lou Jacomet of Middle Inlet, Rollie (Nancy) Kieffer of Franksville, Ruthie (John) Bolser of Tampa, Fla., Randy Kieffer of Stratford, Judy (Rick) Wenzel of Stratford, Cindy (Donald) Bolser of Cambellsport, Alan (Lori) Kieffer of Stratford, Gary (Evonne) Kieffer of Spencer, and Greg (Barb) Kieffer of Marshfield; one sister, Catherine (Donald) Brown, of Wisconsin Rapids, and two brothers, William Guldan, of Stratford, and Alfred Guldan, of Marshfield.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her eldest son, Charles "Red" Kieffer, daughter-in-law, Joyce Kieffer, and son-in-law, Kenneth Jacomet.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the House of the Dove or St. Joseph's Palliative Care.
