Trierweiler, James L. (23 Jan. 1937 - 20 Mar. 2002)

James L. Trierweiler, 65, of 1012 W. 17 St., died at 8:12 p.m. March 20, 2002, at his home with his family at his side. He lost a brave but short battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Mon. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. James J. Logan, pastor, officiating. Suzanne Golden will be the organist.

Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark, John and Jeff Heiting, Mike Huber, Joe Fleisner and Mark Meyers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sun. at the Rembs/Kundinger Chapel and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Mon. at the church. Elks Lodge of Sorrow Memorial Service will be held at 6:15 p.m. Sun.followed by an Our Lady of Peace Parish Rosary Service, combined with the Knights of Columbus Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. Sun. at the funeral home.

He was born Jan. 23, 1937, in Marshfield to Ervin and Frances (nee Schwantes) Trierweiler. He married Patricia C. Graff on May 12, 1956, in Marshfield.

James graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1954. He served in the Wisconsin National Guards. He was employed by the Marshfield Electric and Water Department for 42 ½ years, starting in 1958. For the first several years, he served as the Assistant Manager until his retirement. He acted as a consultant until his death. He was a 36-year member of the American Water Works Association where he received three distinguished awards, one of which was the national George Warren Fuller award given for his distinguished service. He continued to serve as a volunteer for the Wisconsin Water Association after his retirement.

James served on the Board of Directors for the Central City Credit Union and the Kiwanis Club. He was also a member of the Eagles, Elks, Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of Peace Church.

Besides their home in Marshfield, James and his wife spent the last 29 years at their beloved cottage in Phillips where they enjoyed many happy times with family and friends. He loved to travel, fish, hunt and snowmobile.

James is survived by his wife, Patricia of Marshfield; mother, Frances Trierweiler of Marshfield; sons, Philip (Jane) and Roger (Sue) of Marshfield; daughters, Lynn (Dan) Schecklman of Marshfield and Kris Trierweiler of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandsons, Paul Schecklman, Joshua Trierweiler and Ryan Trierweiler; granddaughter Claire Schecklman; sisters, Elaine Fleisner of Marshfield, Ellen (Dave) Huber of Marshfield and Joan Heiting of Wausau; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Ervin Trierweiler and brother-in-law, Joseph Fleisner and Jerry Heiting.

He was a devoted husband, son, father and grandfather who dearly loved his family and friends. He will be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in James’ name to Hope Lodge in Marshfield or Ministry Home Care, Hospice Services Marshfield.
