Pankratz, Virginia (15 Nov. 1938 - 1 Sept. 2001)

MARSHFIELD -- Virginia “Toots” Pankratz, 80, passed away on April 13 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. She was born on September 1, 1920 to John and Anna Dishinger in Rozellville, Wis.

Virginia married Reuben Pankratz on November 15, 1938 in Marshfield. She worked at Roddis Plywood and as a cook for the Marshfield School District.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Virginia also liked playing cards, visiting with friends and family and going to the casino with her sisters. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three infant sons.

Virginia is survived by two sons, Thomas (Susan) Pankratz of Washburn, Don (Mary) Pankratz of Mosinee; and by two daughters, Darlene (Don) Pierre of Marshfield and Charlene (Randy) Schreiber of Franklin.

Funeral services will be held on Tues., April 17 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. Her nieces and nephews will be the pallbearers. Helen Brinkmann will be the organist along with William A. Allen as the vocalist. Fr. Jerome Gerum will be officiating.

Burial will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield.

Visitation will be on Mon., April 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Rembs/Kundinger Chapel and on Tues., April 17 from 9:30 until service time at the church.

A special rosary service by the Sacred Heart Parish and the Parish Council of Catholic Women will take place on Mon. at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
