Smith, Mary J. (1922? - 6 Feb. 2009)

Mary J. Smith, 86, of Marshfield died on Fri., Feb. 6, 2009, at Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Mon. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) with Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery with Justin Wiesemann, Jesse Cahn, Carl Landowski and Kurt Wallig serving as pallbearers.

Visitations will be at the Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) on Mon. from 12:30 p.m. until service time.

Mary was born in Marshfield to Elizabeth E. Welch and had attended schools in Chili. She was united in marriage to Thomas E. Smith on April 10, 1948, in Bakerville.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and loved animals. She was a very caring, loving and giving person who always thought of other people first. She dearly missed her three children who preceded her in death.

Mary is survived her husband Tom of Mercer; five children, Michael Smith of Baxter, Minn., Connie Wiesemann of Marshfield, Jenny (Carl) Landowski of Scandinavia, Jim Smith of Marshfield and Tammy (Kurt) Wallig of Marshfield; six grandchildren, Meagan and Jesse Cahn, Shannon Boushon, Justin Wiesemann, Breanna Wallig and Chad Smith; one great-grandchild, Lila Sonderberg.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a son, William; two daughters, Karen and Cheryl; and a son-in-law, Norbert Cahn.
