White, Alonzo LaVerne (25 Aug. 1930 - 21 June 2004)

Alonzo LaVerne “Whitey” White, 73, of 2630 Range Rd., Wisconsin Rapids, died Mon. morning, June 21, 2004, at his residence.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Fri., at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Timothy Wenger will officiate. Entombment will be at a later date in Forest Hill Mausoleum.

Mr. White was born on Aug. 25, 1930, in Menomonie to Alonzo and Gladys (Irvine) White. He married Doris Olson on Aug. 4, 1951.

Mr. White was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids as a truck driver and trainer and retired in 1992 with 45 years of service.

He served his country in the Army Nation Guard. He was a member of the Chordaires county band and enjoyed golfing, pool and shuffleboard.

Survivors include his wife, Doris of Wisconsin Rapids; his mother Gladys, of Waupaca; his children, Michael of Oak Harbor, Wash., Randy (Dixie) of Wisconsin Rapids, Linda (Paul) Binnebose of Nekoosa, Rodney of Abbotsford, and Debbie (Peter) Fartaczek of Shreveport, LA.; 16 Grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Bernice Erickson of Waupaca.

He was predeceased by his father; one daughter-in-law, Remy; and an infant sister.

Friends may call at Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4 p.m. on Thur. and at the church on Fri. from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Memorials may be designated to the American Diabetes Association.
