Wegner, Paulina Johanna (9 June 1874 - 10 Sept. 1931)

Mrs. Wm. Wegner died suddenly at the Marshfield hospital last Thur., where her husband had taken her for medical treatment. She had been in ill health for some time, and the sudden death of her brother, Henry Goellner in July, was quite a shock to her.

The funeral was held from St. Paul's Lutheran Church of which she had been a devoted member, on Sun.afternoon. A large gathering of friends and neighbors at these last rites attested to the esteem in which this kindly mother and dutiful wife was held by those who enjoyed her love and acquaintance. Rev. Handrich preached the funeral sermon and following the services the remains were laid at rest in the Union Cemetery.

Paulina Johanna Goellner was born in Thiensville, this state, on June 9th, 1874, and at an early age came to Butternut with her parents.

On June 11th 1896 she was united in marriage to William Wegner. To bless this union seven children were born, one of whom died in infancy. She is survived by her sorrowing husband and four sons, Arnold, Gerhard, and Herbert of Butternut and Irwin of of Milwaukee, and two daughters, Sophia, of Milwaukee and Eleanor of Butternut. She is also mourned by her brother, William Goellner, of Milwaukee, and four sisters, Mrs. Hartmann and Mrs. Otto Jonas, of Butternut, Mrs. Thiermann of Milwaukee and Mrs. John Nelson of Vancouver, Wash.

The sorrowing relatives are deeply sympathized with in the untimely death of this estimable wife, mother and sister, by their many friends in this community.

Among those from out of town to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Wegner, Miss Sophia Wegner, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schultz, of Milwaukee, Mrs. J. C. Dorpat, of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. George Kerr, of Highbridge, and Mrs. Robert Elliott of Mellen.
