Olson, Marie (28 FEB 1907 – 29 JUN 1945)

Mrs. Leo Olson, nee Marie Baron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Baron, was born in Thorp, on February 28, 1907. Here she lived until she was 12 years old when her parents moved to Chicago where they lived for six years coming to Greenwood where she made her home for two years, again returning to Chicago.

On December 28, 1928 she was married to Leo Olson in Chicago and they resided there a year before coming to Greenwood to make their home on the present Olson farm 4 miles Northeast of here.

To this union was born three children Leonard 16, Delmond 11 and Roger 4.

Mrs. Olson was taken to the Bradly Memorial hospital at Madison over a week ago but she has been in ill health most of the winter.

She passed away on Friday Morning, June 29, 1945 at the age of 38 years, 4 months and one day.

She is survived by her husband, and 3 sons; her mother, two sisters Elsie and Violet and one brother Walter all of Chicago.

Funeral Services were held Monday afternoon July 2, at 1:30 at the home and at 2:00 o'clock at the Trondhjem Lutheran Church. At the home Mrs. Leonard Johnson and Mrs. Ernest Elmer sang "In The Sweet Bye and Bye" accompanied by Mrs. M. K. Aaberg and at the church they sang "Sweet Peace The Gift of God's Love", "Sometime We Will Understand," and "God Will Take Care of You." She was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. M. K. Aaberg officiated.

The pallbearers were Ed Stangret,| Gerald Jolivette, Arthur Hendrickson, Leonard Johnson, Clarence Verhulst and Haakon Ystad.

Those who had charge of the flowers were Mmes. Clarence Verhulst, Arthur Hendrickson, Ed Stangret and Haakon Ystad.
