Teclaw, Caroline (1 APR 1904 – 29 AUG 1974)

Funeral services for Mrs. Caroline Teclaw, 70, of route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), were held at 10:30 Monday forenoon, September 2, 1974, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, with the Rev. George A. Becker in charge of the service. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Art Paul, Joe Cwikla, Harold Sorenson, Don O'Konski, Jerry Teclaw, and Dale Krebsbach.

Mrs. Teclaw died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 1974, of an apparent heart attack at her home.

The former Caroline Gay was born April 1, 1904, at Chicago, Illinois, and was married July 26, 1926 at Thorp to Joseph Teclaw. In 1930 they moved from Chicago to the town of Longwood (Clark Co.), where she operated the Happy Hollow Tavern since 1938.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, its ladies Rosary-Altar Society and St. Ann's Circle.

Survivors include a son, Donald, Greendale; two daughters, Miss Alicia Teclaw, Owen, and Mrs. Paul (Lorraine) Firnstahl, Colby; five sisters, Mrs. Cummins (Mae) Patterson of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Rose French, Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Jack (Waunda) Kaczor, Owen, Mrs. Alfred (Josephine) Arndt, Withee, and Mrs. Charles (Helen) Wooley, Fontana, California; two brothers, Ted Gay, Marshfield and Frank Gay, Withee; and five grandchildren.
