Hoeper, Fred (15 OCT 1901 – 2 OCT 1974)

Funeral services for Fred Hoeper, 72, were held Saturday, October 5, 1974 at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. The Rev. Robert Sullivan, pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, was in charge of the service, and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery near Withee.

Serving as pallbearers were Morris Martin, Paul Bladl, Art Hansen, Ross Braithwaite, Lester Kallberg, and Lee Jensen.

Mrs. Lester Hansen was the organist and Erna Pelka the vocalist.

Mr. Hoeper passed away at 7 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 1974 at the Continental Nursing Home in Abbotsford.

Mr. Hoeper was born October 15, 1901 at Phlax and was married February 15, 1925, in Chicago, to the former Margaret Buranosky, who survives him.

Following his marriage he worked for Bowman Dairy in Chicago until 1947, when he moved to the town of Holway (Taylor Co., Wis.) and farmed until 1954. He then operated a farm in the town of Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.) until 1963, when he retired and lived in Withee for a number of years, and later moved to Owen.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Fred Jr., Omaha, Nebraska, Paul, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Alan, Seattle, Washington, and John and Gerald, both of Rothschild; two sisters, Mrs. Irna Serley, Owen, and Mrs. Ed (Elizabeth) Krohn, Brookfield, Illinois; four brothers, Charles, Clearwater, Florida, Claude, Oaklawn, Illinois, and William H. and Edwin, both of Owen, and nine grandchildren.

Two brothers preceded him in death.
