Mary L. Holtzhausen, age 72, of Colby, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, in Abbotsford.

A celebration of life will be held privately at a later date.

If desired, the family is accepting monetary donations in Mary’s name to the Clark County Humane Society and/or the Taylor County Humane Society.

Her arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.

Mary L Holtzhausen, 72, of Colby, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 18, 2019 in Abbotsford.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6PM on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday at the funeral home from 3PM until time of services.

Mary was born on March 21, 1947 in Wood County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Donald and Jean (Auberson) Wittkamp. She graduated from Abbotsford High School and later went on to graduate from Northcentral Technical College and Mid-State Technical College with an Associate Degree in Medical Assistance and an Associate Degree in Medical Transcription.

She was united in marriage to David Holtzhausen on May 20, 1967 in Abbotsford, Wisconsin. They had two children, Jane and Daniel. Mary worked as a transcriptionist among other jobs at the Marshfield Clinic-Greenwood Center for 25 years until her retirement.

Mary was a member of Immanuel Church of Christ in Greenwood. She loved to use her skills with crocheting and knitting and enjoyed spending her time coloring in the many adult coloring books she had acquired. She also enjoyed relaxing at the cabin and fishing at Mead Lake.

She was survived by her loving husband David of Colby; her children Jane Holtzhausen and Daniel (Melissa) Holtzhausen both of Colby; her grandchildren Michael Hinz of Colby, Jessica Hinz of Granton and Bree Holtzhausen of Colby; her four nieces Samantha, Joelle, Nikki and Andrea all of Texas and her brother-in-law George Mueller.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Jean, her sister Joanne Mueller of Houston, TX, her brother Robert Wittkamp of Abbotsford and her niece Allison Wittkamp.

If desired, the family is accepting monetary donations in Mary’s name to the Clark County Humane Society and/or the Taylor County Humane Society and can be sent to the family at 311 N. 1st Street, Colby, WI 54421.
