Haupt, James P. (13 Oct. 1942 - 18 Jan. 1988)

James P. Haupt, 45, of 309 S. State Street, died at 7:04 p.m. Mon. at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was admitted Jan. 15.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thur. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield. The Rev. John S. LaPorte will officiate. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Mrs. Helen Brinkmann will be the organist for St. John’s church choir.

Pallbearers will be David Krause, Hubert Welniak, James Kremer, Leonard and Robert Haupt, and Robert Krohn.

Visitation will be at the Rembs/Kundinger Chapel after 4 p.m. today and again on Thur. until time of services. Columbus High School Faculty and student body prayer service will be at 4 p.m. today with St. John’s Prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

He was born Oct. 13, 1942, in the town of Marshfield, to Emil and Alice Haupt. He attended St. John’s Parochial School and Columbus High School, graduating in 1960.

He married Patricia A. Krause Nov. 29, 1969, at St. John’s Catholic Church.

He was employed at Weyerhaeuser Co. until 1973, then at Land O’Lakes Inc. in Spencer.

He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.

He is survived by his parents, Emil and Alice Haupt of Marshfield; his wife, Patricia; two sons, Brad and Eric, both of Marshfield; one daughter, Crystal of Marshfield; five brothers, Daniel of Stevens Point, Kenneth and Paul, both of Marshfield, Douglas of Stratford, and Patrick of Tucson, Ariz.; six sisters, Mrs. Jean Wilhelm, Mrs. Jon (Sandi) Mortvedt, and Pam Haupt, all of Marshfield, Mrs. Howard (Ruth) Mauldin of Welsh, La., Mrs. Dennis (Peggy) Chiti of Wauwatosa, and Mrs. Al (Linda) Brachmann of Two Rivers.

He was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
