The Owen-Withee High School (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) Class of 1959 held their
15 year class reunion at the Amber Inn in Loyal. Of the 76 graduates, 19
attended with their spouse.
Patrick Devine was the master of ceremonies and Mrs. Allen Fravert was
chairman of the reunion. She was assisted by Mrs. Curt Garrett and Mrs.
Ralph Pernsteiner.
Members of the class present were: Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Darlene Burhop) Switsky,
Mr. and Mrs. John Siggelkow, Mr. and Mrs. James (Jean Albert) Lukas, Mr. and
Mrs. Patrick Devine, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow (Jane McCorrison) Wall, Mr. and
Mrs. Mark (Louise Kobylinski) Edelson, Mr. and Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. Allen (Mary
Larsen) Fravert, Henry Burmeister, Louis Kurhais, Mr. and Mrs. Neil (Agnes
Zalabsky) Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Patricia Gehrke) Langhoff, Mr. and
Mrs. David (Karen Grow) Horan, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Mnichowicz, Mr. and Mrs.
Curt (Nancy Himes) Garrett, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ciokiewicz, Mr. and Mrs.
Elliott (Karen Potocnik) Paulsen, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Ovyn, and Dave Devine.
The classmates decided to hold another reunion in five years. All the
couples from Eau Claire will be on the committee. Karen Horan was elected
Chairperson for 1979. Duet to the poor turnout of classmates it was decided
to ask the classes of ’58 and ’60 to unite with the class next time.
Stopping in later in the evening for a short visit were Mr. and Mrs. (Marion
Haemer) O’Bradovich, Mr. and Mrs. Mel (Esther Kangas) Luke, and Mr. and Mrs.
Phillip (Judy Auberg) Cieslik.
Awards were given to the following:
- Newest married – Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ciokiewicz.
- Longest married – Mr. and Mrs. Allen Fravert.
- Youngest child – Mr. and Mrs. Leon Mnichowicz.
- Most children – Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Ovyn.
- Traveled farthest – Henry Burmeister.
- Least hair – John Siggelkow.
