Goldsmith, Hallie G. (5 January 1910 – 29 April 1984)

Hallie G. Goldsmith, 74, Route 4 Black River Falls died Sunday afternoon, April 29, at the Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse following a brief illness.

He was born January 5, 1910 in the Shady Glen community near Hixton to Mr. and Mrs. James Goldsmith. He married Verda Gee November 28, 1926 at Black River Falls. He always engaged in carpenter work.

He is survived by his wife, Verda of Route 4, Black River Falls; five daughters, Opal, Mrs. Ross Arneson; Janet, Mrs. Robert Eddy and LuAnn, Mrs. Michael Gaede, each of Black River Falls; Mavis, Mrs. John Stanton of Rockford, Illinois; and Bonnie, Mrs. Howard Shoemaker of Janesville; five sons, Gary, Barry, and Christy, each of Black River Falls; Allen of Janesville and Randy of Merrillan; one sister, Evelyn Herried of Black River Falls; one brother, Merl Goldsmith of Houston, Texas; 29 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Two sons preceded him in death.

Funeral services were at two o’clock (balance of article missing).
