Campbell, Violet R. (27 April 1927 – 2 April 2009)

Violet R. Campbell 81, of Black River Falls died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Parkside Residence.

She was born April 27, 1927, in Albion Township, Jackson County, to Emil and Alida (Aleckson) Engebretson. She had been employed at the Pine View Care Center for many years until her retirement. Violet was a member of the Squaw Creek Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Women of the ELCA. In her free time she enjoyed playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles, reading and visiting with friends.

Violet is survived by one son, Daryl (Josie) Cox of Sahuarita, AZ; two daughters, Shirley Joseph of Black River Falls and Gail Cox of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Floyd Cox in 1960 and Delos Campbell in 1995; a son, Steve; four brothers: Donald, Wallace, Ralph and Irwin Engebretson; and four sisters, Hazel Peterson, Agnes Tjerstad, Elva Farrington and Vera Farrington.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009, from the Squaw Creek Lutheran Church with the Rev. Cal Thoreson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Torgerson’s Funeral Home Monday, April 13, 2009, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
