O’Brien, Dakota G. (2 May 2006 – 29 September 2008)

Dakota G. O’Brien, 2, of Black River Falls died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at the Black River Memorial Hospital. He was born May 2, 2006, to Holly Pike and Kelly O’Brien in Black River Falls.

Dakota enjoyed being outdoors, playing with his brother and sister, going for bicycle rides with his dad, driving his sister’s powered Barbie Jeep and playing in the playground. He also enjoyed helping others, traveling with his family on vacations and watching Blue’s Clues.

He is survived by his mother, Holly Pike, and father, Kelly O’Brien, both of Black River Falls; sisters, Cheyenne Pike of Black River Falls and Valerie O’Brien; and brother, Dawsen O’Brien of Black River Falls.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Howard Pike, Sr., and his paternal grandmother, Arlene Dennis.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls. Chaplain Kevin Newell officiated. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery, Black River Falls. Family and friends were invited for visitation Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Buswell Funeral Home. Family and friends were also invited for visitation Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008; from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.

Memorials are being taken at Co-op Credit Union of Black River Falls for the family of Dakota.
