Peterson, Peter (22 July 1838 – 14 Dec. 1890)

At his home in the town of Albion, Sunday afternoon, December 14, 1890, of hemorrhage of the liver, Peter Peterson, aged 52 years.

The deceased was born at Ringbo, Norway, July 22, 1838, and came to this country and to Jackson county in 1859, hence was quite an old settler. About twenty-seven years ago he was married to Miss Berthle Mikelson, who survives him. There are also nine children living, three of whom are married. He was one of the most successful farmers in the county, and leaves his family in good circumstances. The funeral services were held a the Little Norway church Sunday afternoon, Rev. G. Hoyme, of Eau Claire, officiating. Mr. Peterson was a man of sturdy intelligence, very industrious, and as honest and trustworthy a man as the county affords. The large attendance at the funeral betokens the esteem with which he was held by his neighbors. Not near all the people could get in the church, and there were over fifty teams in the procession. He has been supervisor and chairman. All of his children were here, and in attendance at the funeral.

*** Note: His date of death is from his wife’s obituary.
