Services for Max T. Mason, 40, R. 5, Black River Falls, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Little Norway Lutheran Church, rural Black River Falls. The Rev. Paul Reiff will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites by the Miles-Hagen American Legion Post.
Friends may call at the Charles Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls, today from 7 to 9 p.m. with a Veterans of Foreign Wars service at 8 p.m. Friends also may call at the church on Saturday form l p.m. until the services.
Mason died of a heart attack on Wednesday, Oct. 27, in La Crosse Lutheran Hospital.
He was born July 6, 1942, in Black River Falls to George and Harriet (Peterson) Mason. He graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1960. He married Elaine Bernett on July 10, 1972, in Black River Falls.
Mason was a Vietnam War Army veteran.
He had worked at the Chevrolet plant in Janesville for a short time and at the Keystone Manufacturing Co. in Black River Falls. He later was employed by Bekins Van Lines and Beer Transit of Black River Falls and also was a farmer.
For the past two years, Mason had been a truck driver for John's IGA of Black River Falls.
He was a member of the Thompson-Red Cloud Veterans of Foreign Wars Post of Black River Falls.
Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Michelle, at home; two stepsons, Todd and Mark Millis, both at home; his father of Black River Falls; and one brother, Gene of Black River Falls.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Memorials may be given to the Little Norway Lutheran Church.
