Greenwood (4 July 1968)

Major Tom Larson arrived here Thursday after being stationed in Thailand for several months. He was met in Minneapolis by his wife, the former Ann Warner.

Mrs. Palmer Vinger and Mrs. Fred Behrens went to Whitehall Wednesday, where they participated in a contract bridge tournament. Mrs. Behrens won second prize.

Recent guests at the William Kuchenbecker home were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Zirngibl of Milwaukee and Mike Zirngibl of Medford.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie, visited friends in Iola Sunday and also visited Mrs. Stella Damstad, who was dismissed from the hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Vern Smith of Milwaukee spent several days at the home of Mrs. Fred Behrens.

Mr. and Mrs. Edmund O’Konski and family of Waukegan, Ill., arrived Saturday to spend several weeks with relatives in Greenwood and Owen. They were accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Alma Busch, who had spent three weeks at the O’Konski home.

Mr. and Mrs. Delmain Toburen celebrated the fourth birthday of their twin sons, Mark and Michael by entertaining 18 little playmates and some of their mothers, at their home Monday afternoon. Another party was held Monday evening. Guests were the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Toburen and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dillenbeck and family of Greenwood, the great-grandfathers, Roger Dillenbeck of Marshfield and Albert Fravert of Greenwood; Jerry Becker of Loyal, Jayne Neuenfeldt and Susan Scherer.

Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart are their children and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Kenton Stewart and children, Scot, Jan and Eric, of Buffalo, N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Van Keuren and Children, Patrice, Jeffrey and James, of Wooster, O.; and Mrs. Everett Humke and daughters, Christie and Shelley, of Rochester, Minn.

Ralph Borton, Mrs. Lottie Borton of Yuba, Mrs. Irma Boyle of Rock Bridge, and Mrs. Lester Graves of Richland Center spent a few days here with Mrs. Kathryn Ivey and at the Charles Ivey home in Eau Claire.

Mr. and Mrs. Allan Dallman are spending a two-week vacation visiting the Black Hills in South Dakota and other points of interest.

Mrs. Ella Schwarze left Monday for a visit in Arpin with her son, Elroy Schwarze and family.

Mr. and Mrs. George Caliebe have returned from Appleton, where they spent several days with relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dallman, accompanied by relatives from Owen spent the weekend at their cabin in Hayward.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Stafford and family of Neenah spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stafford.

Those from Greenwood who attended the funeral of H. M. Loren Millard in Marshfield were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Johnson, Sam Johnson, Ray Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Verhulst, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Johnson and the Rev. Arvid Myhrwold.

The Ladies Birthday club of Greenwood honored Mrs. Matt Briski with a party held at her home Thursday to celebrate her 80th birthday.

Mr. and Mrs. Tony Briski, Kay and Allen, and Mrs. Matt Stimac returned to Berwyn, Ill., after spending several days with their mother, Mrs. Matt Briski and other relatives.

Fred Clintsman of Greenwood was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Marshfield, after suffering a stroke.

Those from Greenwood who attended the Royal Neighbor convention in Withee were Mrs. Lawrence Cox, Mrs. Robert Clintsman, Mrs. Alice Perkins, Mrs. Lee Corey and Miss Louise Keiner.
