Hagedorn, Metta (3 April 1886 - 15 July 1968)

Mrs. Metta H. Hagedorn, 82, Neillsville, died Monday at her home here. Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe. The body will be taken from the Georgas Funeral Home to the church one hour before the time of service. The Rev. Robert Bitter will officiate. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Hagedorn, daughter of the late Herman and Pauline (Klopf) Wegner, was born April 3, 1886, in the town of Pine Valley. She attended and lived most of her lifetime in the Globe area. On March 22, 1905, she was married to Paul M. Hagedorn, who died in 1965. They farmed for many years, moving to Neillsville in 1945.

Mrs. Hagedorn is survived by six children: Mrs. Ed (Lillian) Marg, Herman Hagedorn, Julius Hagedorn and Mrs. Harvey (Evelyn) Krause all of Neillsville; Mrs. Louie (Helen) Nemitz of Bloomer; and Louis Hagedorn of Neillsville. Other survivors include 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Globe.

Funeral services for Mrs. Metta H. Hagedorn, 82, were held last Thursday afternoon from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe. The Rev. Robert Bitter officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Hagedorn died July 15 at her home in Neillsville.

Pallbearers were: Herman Dux, William Hoffmann, Fritz Grap, Sr., Frank Thoma, Herman and Ervin Hemp.

Hymns were sung by the congregation, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. David Hoppa.

People from away attending the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nemitz of Omaha, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Louie Nemitz, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nemitz and James Nemitz all of Bloomer; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hemp of Rochester, Minn.; Kurt Schoenherr of Columbus; Richard Schlueter and Mr. and Mrs. E. Schlueter of Belle Plaine, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Wally Sether of Appleton; Mrs. Elizabeth Grap of Wausau; Miss Theresa Hagedorn of Eau Claire.; Mr. and Mrs. Ramon Hagedorn of Sun Prairie; Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Marg and family of Alma Center; Bill Oldham of Strum; Frank Dux, Mr. and Mrs. Verland Dux, and Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Dux of Loyal; Edward Kalsow, Mrs. Herbert Sternitzky and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Helm of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. John Hemp of Merrillan; Harold Hagedorn of Mequon; Miss Kathy Kuehl of Watertown; and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Moldenhauer of Taylor.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.
