Geo. B. Shaw stated that according to the by-laws the annual meeting of the stockholders is fixed to be held on the 27th of May, and moved that a committee of  three be appointed by, the president to present the names of seven stockholders to serve as directors till the annual meeting.

The president appointed Geo. B.  Shaw, Jno. S. Owen and V. W. Bayless to constitute such committee.

The committee retired and shortly returned presenting the following to constitute the board of of directors: D. R. Moon.

P. W. Woodward, Geo. B. Shaw, S. C. Brooks, Ed. J. Cass, Frank McDonough, R. E. Rust. Motion that the report of committee be accepted and the same was adopted by three hundred and ninety-five votes.

Geo. B. Shaw stated that the building would probably be erected on the three  lots and half lot in west block on S. Barstow St. south of Main street north  adjoining what is known as the Hantzsch property, and that the value of the real estate was not to exceed $6,500. The estimate cost of the building proper not including furniture &c., was $28,000 which would leave the sum of $5,500 for the furniture, fittings &c. It is calculated the building will be completed by the time of holding the state fair. Jno. Mayer who owns the property south adjoining the proposed site very generously offered to give a deed of one-half of the brick and stone wall of his building to the opera House Company and also subscribed for. one thousand dollars of stock with provisions that no saloon should be allowed to occupy any of the premises.

W. P. Bartlett introduced a which was in substance that in the sense of this Company the Opera House should be built this season and that the directors take action in the same and that the lots be purchased &c. He was willing that the matter be left in the hands, of the directors. The resolution was changed slightly and was unanimously adopted. The stockholders meeting then adjourned and in accordance with a section of the by-laws a meeting of the directors was held all being present except F. W. Woodward and Frank McDonough. On motion D. Moon was made chairman and R. E. Rust secretary. No of any importance was transacted and the meeting adjourned till this afternoon to hold a session at the office of the City Railway Company which hereafter will be known as the general office of the Eau Claire Opera House Company.
