Frederick Julius Hoeppner, president of the Hoeppner-Bartlett Company, was born in Germany, February 5, 1854. He was reared and educated in his native country; came to the United States in 1880 and settled in Eau Claire.

In 1881 he married Miss Bertha Krueger, and they have had three children, Hedwig, Margaret and Edmund.

After his arrival in Eau Claire he worked as a carpenter for several years and then engaged in the contracting and building business. In 1898 he went into partnership with W. W. Bartlett and organized the firm of Hoeppner & Bartlett, contractors, which was incorporated in 1906 as the Hoeppner-Bartlett Company of which concern he has since been president.
