Chase, Roy (29 July 1906 – 12 January 1988)

Mr. Chase, 81, passed away following a brief illness early Tuesday, January 12, at Memorial Home. He had been a resident there since December of 1985.

Born in the Town of Saxville, Waushara county, on July 29, 1906, he was the son of Joseph and Dora (Nielsen) Chase. At the age of 4 years, he moved with his family to the Town of Pine Valley and was educated in Neillsville schools. On June 14, 1936, he married Della Lawrence in the Town of York. They farmed for many years until retiring in 1979 and moving to Neillsville.

Survivors include his wife, Della; a sister, Mrs. Muriel Kutchera, Neillsville, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; six brothers, Arthur, Lyman, Howard, Elmer, Clarence and Joe; four sisters, Ina, Fanny, Lillian and Leona; a half-brother, Harry and half-sister, Blanch.

Visitation for Roy Chase, Neillsville, will be Thursday evening, January 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Gesche Funeral Home and one hour prior to 11 a.m. services on Friday, January 15, at York Center Methodist Church, Granton. Rev. C. Arlene Denzer will officiate; Sunshine Girls and Millie Faber, will provide music. Interment will be in Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Vandeberg, Merlin Jacobson, Royal Karlen, Allen Novak, Kenneth and Arthur Chase.
