Steffen, Albert J. (29 August 1907 - 2 May 1988) With Flag

Eight-year-old Albert J. Steffen, Stanley, died Monday evening, May 2, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Rev. Joseph Henseler of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville, conducted a memorial service on Saturday, May 7, at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton. Following cremation, interment will be in Lynn Cemetery.

Mr. Steffen was born August 29, 1907, in Fond du Lac County, the son of John and Martha Steffen. His family moved to Lindsey in 1921. He worked as a mechanic in an implement shop and was a veteran of WWII. In 1940, he moved to Stanley.

Surviving are 4 sisters and a brother, Caroline Bartsch, Neillsville; Dorene Canfield of Clam Lake; Agnes Hansen of Milwaukee; Elsie Tyler of Wonder Lake, IL; and Elmer Steffen of Chili. He was predeceased by 4 brothers.
