Eau Claire - Two Colby high School students were among students from 11 counties
attending a recent program offering advanced training in business and
agriculture, The program emphasized computer usage and applications.
Dennis Johnson and Darryl Schuh completed 16 hours of training during the recent
semester after school and on week-ends. They then completed 30 hours of work
this summer to complete the program.
The program is part of a statewide project reallocating funds usually earmarked
for vocational education at the post-secondary level to provide additional
training for students in high school vocational programs.
Schools prepare proposals to receive funds from the special fund. District One
had the largest such proposal accepted, incorporating 37 high school. Statewide,
$1 million was made available for the project.
