A group of sixteen Owen-Withee FFA members and six chaperones left on June 4th,
1977 at 1:00 a.m. for the annual trip to Canada. The group journeyed the
Mackinac Island, Niagara Falls and to Wild Goose Lake Resort, and returned on
Sunday, June 12.
Niagara Falls was the highlight of the trip for this year. Everyone was looking
forward to the Falls. We were not disappointed, as they were spectacular.
Everyone brought fish home, although most were not very large. The fun was there
regardless.
The FFA members who went on the trip were: Jill Strassburger, Gail Tytor, Duane
Jarocki, Jim Frese, Dave Friedenfels, Roger Koplitz, Church Sillampa, Curt
Jarocki, Danny and Scott Fritz, Paul Weiler, Steve Nelson, Mike Schrom, John
Turner, Bill Rusch and Joe Stiemann. The chaperones were LaVerne and Laurie
Shilts, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hamel and Our advisor and his wife, Joe Pawlak and
Sharon.
Student taking part are eligible for this trip through a point system from
selling seed corn, seed oats, fruit and garden seeds.
All members of our FFA wish to say thanks to our parents, customers, chaperones
and our advisor for the opportunity this trip gave us.
