Neumann, Dorothy (11 March 1902-29 June 1983)

UNITY-Services for Mrs. John (Dorothy) Neumann, 81, Unity, who died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield, will be Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, North Spencer.

The Rev. David Ault will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Visitation will be at the Rux Funeral Home, Spencer.

The former Dorothy Shelly was born March 11, 1902 in Unity, to Mr. and Mrs. George Shelly. As a young girl, she lived in Rapids City, North Dakota, for a time before moving back to Unity. She was married to John Neumann October 15, 1919 in Owen. After their marriage, they lived in the Spencer-Owen area. He died in 1971. For the last eight years, she resided at the Colonial House of Colby.

A member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, Mrs. Neumann is survived by a son, Donald of Route 1, Spencer; a daughter, Mrs. George (Betty) Drneh of Elmwood Park, Illinois; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Reinie (Mildred) Gripentrog, and Mrs. Tony (Geraldine) Schuh.

She was also predeceased by two sons, two daughters, seven brothers and a sister.
