Hoops, Arthur A. (22 Jan. 1912 - 9 Nov. 1981)

SPENCER - Arthur A. Hoops, 69, 226 N. Maple St., Green Bay, formerly of Spencer, died Monday at his home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Green Bay, with the Rev. Davis Darrington officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Green Bay.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at the Lyndahl Funeral Home, corner of Ridge Road and Lombardt Avenue, Green Bay.

Mr. Hoops was born Jan. 22, 1912 in Spencer and received his education at Spencer High School, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Northwestern University. A veteran of World War II, he joined the service Oct. 15, 1943 and completed his Navy indoctrination training at Hollywood, Fla.

He was a teacher in business education in Green Bay for 40 years and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

On Dec. 18, 1943 he married the former Ruth Ellingson, who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jan Schienle, Santa Barbara, Calif.; a son, John Hoops, Davenport, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Adela) Huber and Mrs. John (Laura) Wry, both of Spencer; a brother, Wilbur Hoops, Spencer, and three grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Ray.
