Nimz, Nancy Ellen (27 Dec. 1928 - 7 May 2008)

Nancy Ellen Nimz, 79, Delray Beach, Fla., formerly of Wausau and Green Bay, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 7, 2008, in Delray Beach.

She was born Dec. 27, 1928, to Theodore and Alice Morange in Wausau. On Nov. 28, 1949, she married Wilbur J. Nimz.

As the daughter of a florist family, Nancy discovered her passion for flowers at an early age while growing up in Wausau. She found time to pursue her floral arranging while raising seven children. At the age of 55, Nancy's dream of opening her own flower shop in Green Bay came true. As the Flower Gallery grew, so did her reputation for being a florist who offered beautiful and unique arrangements. Next to her children, the Flower Gallery was her pride and joy.

Since retiring in 1990, Nancy has spent her winters in Delray Beach and summers in Minocqua. Whenever she could, she traveled the world with family and friends.

Each of her seven children was her favorite. Time spent with her children and their families was always treasured and meaningful. Her sense of humor and love of life will always hold her dear to those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by husband, Wilbur John; her children and their spouses, Susan Goulet, Sandra (Les) Rogers, Steven (Cindy) Nimz, David (Jeri) Nimz, Debbie (Dan) Schmitz and Bruce (Tina) Nimz. Nancy was blessed with seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Danny, Derek, Paul, Becky, Brett, Ben, Alyssa, Ethan and Justin. She was also survived by a brother, Roderick Morange. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son, Kevin Edward.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay. Friends may also call from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chuck Valenti-Hein officiating.

Nancy was a remarkable woman, an extraordinary mother and a Child of God. We will miss her all the days of our lives and give her to our Lord in the name of Christ Jesus for safekeeping.
