Rindfleisch, Alfred (28 Dec. 1871 - 5 Sept. 1955)

SPENCER - Final rites for Alfred Rindfleisch, 83, who died at his farm home Monday, were held Thursday in Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Raymond Mueller officiating, followed by burial in the parish cemetery.

The congregation sang "For Me to Live is Jesus" and the church choir sang "Asleep in Jesus" accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Arnold Bruesewitz.

George Schwantes, Oscar Griepentrog, Herbert Schwantes, George Oelrich, Arthur Schwantes, and Alfred Griepentrog served as pallbearers. Flowers were carried by Mrs. Oscar Griepentrog, Mrs. Arthur Schwantes, Mrs. Etta Griepentrog, Mrs. George Schwantes, Mrs. George Oelrich, and Mrs. Herbert Schwantes.

Mr. Rindfleisch was born in Germany Dec. 28, 1871, and came to this vicinity with his parents when seven years old. Shortly after his marriage to the former Martha Schwantes on July 26, 1894, he settled on the present farm in the town of Brighton, where he resided for 61 years. During this time he served several terms as supervisor and chairman for the township.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Ervin and William, Spencer, and Walter, Colby, and two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Hilda) Borman, Medford, and Mrs. Otto (Alice) Bach, Marshfield.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one brother, Ernest, Jefferson.

Out-of-town relatives who attended the rites were Mr. and Mrs. Victor Rindfleisch, Oconomowoc; Mrs. Harry Rice, Fort Atkinson; Mrs. Edward Rindfleisch and Mrs. Harold Rindfleisch, Jefferson; Mrs. William Dalton, Ladysmith; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Nelson, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nichols and Mrs. A. A. Edblom, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Griepentrog, Mrs. Martin Griepentrog, and Mrs. Kopp and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Bach, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dott, and son, Ricky, Beaver Dam; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Borman, Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Rindfleisch, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rindfleisch, Colby; and many relatives and friends from the surrounding area.
