Gierl, Arlene A. (2 May 1947 - 1 June 2008)

ATHENS -- Arlene A. Gierl, 61, Athens, died Sunday, June 1, 2008, at her home.

She was born May 2, 1947, in the town of Johnson, daughter of Floyd and Angeline (Bielen) Gierl.

Arlene farmed in the town of Johnson for many years and was also a home health aide at the Rib Lake Health Care Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Dawn (Mark) Punke, Athens; two sons, Dean (Lynn) Zettler, Cleveland, and Timothy (Jennifer) Zettler, Medford; seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; one brother, James (Delphine) Gierl, Minocqua; three sisters, Bette (Albert) Kunze and Donna (Jerry) Krall, all of Wausau, and Marion (Peter) Schemenauer, Abbotsford. The memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
