Lynn, Rudolph (3 May 1923 - 8 June 1999)

SPENCER - Rudolph “Rudy” Lynn, 76, Phillips, died June 8, 1999, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer. The Rev. Gary Lodholz will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Friday at Community Funeral Home in Spencer and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Rudy was born May 3, 1923, in the town of Brighton, Marathon County, to Sheldon and Irene (nee Ewert) Lynn. He graduated from Unity High School in 1941.

Rudy and Evelyn Greening were married June 26, 1943. They farmed on the home farm until 1967 and then Rudy worked for Land O’Lakes in Spencer for 20 years. Rudy loved fishing, bowling and playing cards. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Chicago Cubs fan. He was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church (North Spencer) and a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Phillips.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of Phillips; his children, Terry Lynn of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Ronald Lynn of River Falls, Dale (Mary Shilts) Lynn of Unity and Marsha (Bill) Martens of Spencer; seven grandchildren, Elisabeth, David, Aaron and Becky Lynn, Jenny, Jodi and Jason Martens, and one great-grandson, Rudy Nieman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, June.
