Ort, Ralph D. (23 Oct. 1933 - 20 Jan. 2004)

EDGAR - Ralph D. Ort, 70, of Edgar died at home on Jan. 20, 2004, under the care of Saint Joseph’s Ministry Health Care.

Mr. Ort was born Oct. 23, 1933, to Edward and Irene (Jenkel) Ort in the Appleton area. On March 13, 1952, he married Grace Huven at St. James Catholic Church in Monico. He worked in the logging industry most of his life. Together, with his sons, he grew and sold Christmas trees. He and his family operated a tavern in Monico from 1972 to August 1982. Mr. Ort was involved in town politics from 1963 through 1976, including four years as chairman of the town of Monico in Oneida County. He is further survived by one brother, Gerald (Carol) Ort, Clintonville; two sisters, Mary Jane (Lyle) Kaddatz, New London, and Karen (Robert) Horsley, Sun City West, Ariz.; and three sisters-in-law, Betty Ort, Appleton, Marlene Ort, Iola, and Doris Ort, Wisconsin Rapids.

Mr. Ort was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in the town of McMillan with the Rev. Anthony L. Straseske officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield. Pallbearers will be his friends, Gary Bradley, Tim….
