Prondzinski, Peter (9 June 1920 - 11 Mar. 2008)

Peter Prondzinski, 87, formerly of the town of Cassel, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.

He was born June 9, 1920, in Poniatowski, son of the late Paul and Rose (Stencil) Prondzinski. Peter farmed in the town of Cassel for many years and raised and trained horses. He had a talent for training horses to work as a team when pulling a buggy or wagon. Peter also worked at Kent Woodworking in Milwaukee, and retired as a milk hauler from the Cassel Garden Cheese Factory.

Peter was a wonderful brother and uncle. He was always very friendly and helpful, always waving and saying "Hello." He loved being with people and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his sister, Mary Ann (Edwin) Wilichowski, Marathon; and many nieces and nephews. Peter was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Anna (Prondzinski) Wilichowski and Sophie (Prondzinski) Zemski; three stepbrothers, Ray, Paul and Clarence Sturgul; and a stepsister, Dorothy (Sturgul) Dahm.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. today, March 14, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, town of Cassel. The Rev. Barnabas Kyea will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services today at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Mount View Care Center for the care and patience they have shown Peter over the last 10 years. We appreciate all that was done.
