Ruppert, Mr./Mrs. Edward (50th Anniv. - 4 May 1947)

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ruppert, town of Hull, held “open house” for 125 guests in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, May 4.

This couple is the third of the Ruppert family to observe a golden wedding, previous celebrations having been held in 1942 by Mr. Ruppert’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. James Anderson, and in 1946 by his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Ruppert. A family dinner, at which covers were laid for 35, preceded the reception.

The Edward Rupperts were married in the town of Hull in 1897 and the following year moved to the farm on which they still reside. Mr. Ruppert was born in northern Michigan in 1870 and his wife was born near Racine in 1878.

Their five children and their families were among the guests at the celebration. They include Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fogarty, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wucherpfennig and children, Donald and Elizabeth, Forman, N.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hefler and son, Chicago; and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ruppert and Mrs. Robert Ruppert and their families, town of Hull; Mrs. Fogarty is the former Edna Ruppert; Mrs. Wucherpfennig, the former Hattie Ruppert; and Mrs. Hefley, the former Viola Ruppert.

Other guests included Mr. and Mrs. James Anderson, Racine; Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Ruppert and Mr. and Mrs. William Ruppert, Mukwonago; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Strasser and son, Leonard, Turtle Lake, and William Grauman and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Grauman and family, Cherokee.
