Huber, Vera (Marriage - 5 Oct. 1935)

Married at 7:30 o'clock Saturday evening Oct. 5, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer, Rev. A. C. Stapel officiating, Rudolph Schweke to Miss Vera Huber. The bridesmaids were Miss Ada Huber and Miss Lenora Schweke. The best men were Orville Taylor of Dorchester and John Zettl. The bride wore an ankle length dress of white satin and lace and a long train veil with Chantilly Lace arranged in cap effect and held in place with orange blossoms. She carried an arm bouquet of pink and white roses and baby breath. Miss Ada Huber's dress was of pink satin, ankle length, and Miss Schweke's peach colored satin, also ankle length. Both wore corsage bouquets of pink and white asters.

The groom and his attendants wore navy blue suits and boutonnieres. Mrs. Art Huber played the wedding march. The ushers were Theodore Huber, brother of the bride and Maynard Voelker, cousin of the groom. Both wore gray suits and boutonnieres.

The church was decorated with baskets of snapdragons, asters and gladiolas.

A reception at the home of the bride's parents, at which 55 guests were present, followed the ceremony. The house was beautifully decorated with pink and white streamers with a large white bell in the center. A large wedding cake was the center of the table decorations. The outside guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Gust Tank of Butternut and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Heckel and daughter, Shirley Ann of Marshfield.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Huber of Spencer and the groom the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schweke of Brighton. The young couple will live for a time with the groom's parents awaiting the completion of their new home on his farm in Brighton, where they will, so at least is the hope of their many friends, live long, and happily and well.

*** Note: The year of marriage is from the church records at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, Marathon County, Wisconsin.
