Milan, Wis. - July 5, 1945

Pvt. Elroy Schade, who has been in the European theatre of war and in the hospital for several months, arrived home on a 30 day furlough Saturday. It was a surprise to his parents.

Visitors at the Clarence Ellenbecker home Sunday were Arthur Ellenbecker and family, Mr. and Mrs. Syril Decker, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wilke, Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Alvar Carlborn, Corinth, Mr. and Mrs. Evelyn Wilke, Milwaukee, and Miss Lucille Decker, Menomonie, Mich. The Donahoe’s are on their vacation and Miss Decker is recuperating from an appendectomy operation.

Mr. and Mrs. George Fullmer of Athens were callers at the Charles Schmidt and John Haderlein home Friday.

Corp. and Mrs. Phillip Ganser spent Friday at the home of the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ganser, Sr., at Mosinee from where Corp. Ganser left that evening for Ft. Bragg, N.C. Mr. and Mrs. John Schreiber and daughter, Carmelita drove over to Mosinee Friday afternoon. Their daughter returned to Milan with them.

Mrs. William Klein and daughter, Rita, Milwaukee, are spending several weeks at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Radlinger and other relatives.

Pvt. and Mrs. Leon Denzine, Racine, are visiting this week at the homes of their brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Denzine, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Denzine and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Denzine. Pvt. Denzine, who was a German prisoner for almost ten months, just recently returned to the United States.

Myron Denzine, Athens, spent last Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Denzine.
