Rose Tessmer (7 Dec 1899 – 4 Apr 1978)

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose E. Tessmer, 78, Dorchester, were held Thursday, April 6 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Dorchester. Mrs. Tessmer died at 12:02 a.m. Tuesday, April 4 at Memorial Hospital, Medford. The Rev. Roland Golz conducted the 1:30 p.m. service and burial was in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. The Maurina Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The former Rose Meyer was born Dec. 7, 1899 in the Town of Mayville and attended the Hilltop School in rural Dorchester.

She married Gust H. Tessmer on May 24, 1923 at St. Peter’s Church in Dorchester and the couple farmed in the Town of Mayville. Her husband died in 1943 and in 1944 she moved to Detroit. She was employed there until (date unknown) when she returned to Dorchester. Mrs. Tessmer was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one son, Donald, Dorchester; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Louise Guth, Abbotsford; and a brother, Emil Meyer, Westboro.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Pallbearers were Paul, Roy, Clifford and Herman Meyer, Alvin Guth and Birchie Hawks.
