Rosa Younker (15 Mar 1891 - Sep 1969)

Mrs. Anton Younker, 78 year-old Dorchester resident, died Monday night at St. Jospeh’s hospital, Marshfield. She had been in ill health the past six months.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am tomorrow, Friday, at St. Louis Catholic church, Dorchester. Rev. Gerald Schuh will officiate and burial will take place in the Dorchester Catholic cemetery.

The body will repose at the Maurina funeral home, Dorchester, after 2 pm today, Thursday. The ladies’ altar society rosary will be held at 3 pm today, Thursday, and a parish rosary will be recited at 8:30 pm tonight, Thursday.

The former Rosa Behring was born March 15, 1891, at Abbotsford. Her marriage to Anton Younker, who preceded her in death May 21, 1963, took place May 19, 1909 at Dorchester.

After their marriage the couple lived on a farm west of Dorchester until 1955 when they moved to Colby. Mrs. Younker resided there until last February when she made her home with her daughter at Dorchester.

She was a member of St. Louis church and a member of its ladies’ altar society.

Surviving are two sons, Rudolph Younker, Norwood, Minn., and Norbert Younker, Dorchester; four daughters, Loretta, Mrs. Gilbert Fritsche, Dorchester, Eva, Mrs. Adolph King, Germantown, Mrs. Vera Henning, Abbotsford, and Anna, Mrs. Rynold Neuernberger, Stetsonville; one brother, Carl Behring, Wausau; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Braatz, Milwaukee, and Emma, Mrs. Elroy Broeske, Colby, 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Three sisters also preceded her in death.
