CONDUCT SERVICES TODAY FOR ARNOLD HOEPER, 64

Several weeks ago Arnold Hoeper was stricken with a serious illness that demanded immediate hospitalization and surgery.  It was diagnosed as a malignant brain tumor which proved fatal to him as he passed away Monday, April 13, at Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley.

He was 64 years, 10 months, and three days of age, being born June 10, 1899.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, April 16, from the First Congregational Church, Owen.  Rev. Robert Goessling will read the burial service with interment being made at Riverside cemetery.

Pallbearers will be George Devine, Ray Clock, August Slock, Morris Martin, Frank Olsewski, and Louis slock.

Arnold Hoeper was a youth of 18 years when he decided to go west traveling to Montana.  There he met and married Maude McCanaha at Sidney Montana, on October 4, 1920.  The couple operated a ranch in that state until 1929.  Twenty-four years ago, in 1940, the settled on their present day farm in the Town of Hixon.

Mourning his trying illness and passing are his wife, Maude; four sons, Phillips and Frank of Omaha, Nebraska, Charles of Neillsville and Claude of Owen; two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Irma) Serley, West Chester, Ill., and Mrs. Ray (Elizabeth) Krohn, Brookfield, Ill.; and five brothers, Charles Hoeper, Brookfield, Ill., August Claude Hoeper, Oak Lawn, Ill., and Fred and William of Owen.
