Flatz, Hazel Maude (30 November 1885 - 29 April 1969)

Mrs. Hazel Maude Flatz, 83, of San Diego, Calif., former resident of Greenwood and Loretta, died April 29, in a hospital where she had been admitted January 1. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday from the Hill Funeral Home, with the Rev. Arvid Myhrwold of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call beginning at 8 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Hill Funeral Home.

Survivors include a son, Delmain Flatz of San Diego, and a brother, Don Warner of Greenwood.

Mrs. Hazel Flatz, 83, a former resident of Greenwood, died last week Tuesday in a hospital in San Diego, Calif. Funeral services were held Friday from the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood. The Rev. Arvid Myhrwold, pastor of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Flatz, the former Hazel Maud Warner, daughter of Leroy and Mary (Hommel) Warner was born November 30, 1885, in Greenwood. She was married December 29, 1916, in Terry, Mont., to Harvey L. Flatz. They lived on a ranch in Montana until 1926, when they came to Greenwood, where they operated a filling station. In 1941, they sold the station and bought a resort on Bear Lake, near Loretta. Mr. Flatz died May 7, 1958. Mrs. Flatz went to San Diego on January 1, 1969, because of ill health.

Survivors are a son, Delmain Flatz of San Diego, Calif., and a brother, Don Warner, of Greenwood.

Pallbearers were Lawrence Jackson, Einar Jackson, Dale Jollivette, Lee Jackson, William Lyon and Thomas Behrens. The Rev. and Mrs. Arvid Myhrwold sang, “Good Night Here and Good Morning up There” and “Trust in Jesus” accompanied on the organ by Miss Debbie Myhrwold.
